Winterfest 2012   Sat Feb 4 & Sun Feb 5

Sat. Feb. 4, Newmarket Community Centre & Lions Hall, 200 Doug Duncan Dr. & Riverwalk Commons 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., pancake breakfast, family bingo, kids room. Fairy Lake Park, Water St. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. includes wagon rides, pony rides,games, dog sled rides & hot food. Free admission (nominal fee for some activities).

Sun. Feb. 5, Ray Twinney Recreation Complex, 100 Eagle St. W. Craft Sale,12 to 4 p.m. free admission, fill out a ticket on site & have a chance to win prizes! Free public skate 12 to 2 p.m. & free public swim 1 to 4 p.m.

Things To Do In Markham:

2012 Battling Bands   Sat Feb 4

Enjoy a memorable evening of incredible entertainment and talent, as young amateur bands compete for a GRAND PRIZE OF $5,000 at the Markham Theatre for Performing Arts.
Celebrity Judges and fans will vote to determine the 2012 winning band. Top prize includes a recording studio package. Tickets: $15

Things To Do in Vaughan:

Vaughan Winterfest 2012     Sun Feb 12 

The City of Vaughan’s 23rd annual Winterfest will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the North Thornhill Community Centre, 300 Pleasant Ridge Avenue, in Thornhill.  We welcome   as the Event Sponsor.

This fun-filled family event will feature FREE stage entertainment in the outdoor Amphitheatre,  Midway Zone, Ice Zone Carving Demos, face painting, a pizza making workshop, displays, craft activities and much more!

Entertainment will include Max & Ruby’s Musical Playdate featuring upbeat and orginal songs, Fearless – A Tribute to Taylor Swift, Puss in Boots Meet & Greet, CariVaughan: Bringing the Sound of Carnival, Kobbler Jay: The Eccentric Juggler, and Doo Doo the International Clown.

Toronto Maple Leafs Defenceman Jake Gardiner will also be on hand for a free autograph session at 2 p.m.. Official Welcome by Mayor & Members of Council will be at 10:30 a.m. All activities are free and great food will be available for purchase.

Free Shuttle Bus Service

Park at Vaughan City Hall 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive, take the Shuttle Bus to and from WinterFest site between 9:15am and 4:15pm.
